THE YEAR OF 2018

 


2018 lichun took place at 5:28AM 4 February 2018. The fire element is very strong, supported by 3 wood element at the root, and a fire bank (dog). Metal element is missing from the chart, while there were no bank failure in 2018, it proved to a be a very challenging time for financial industry to operate. The US Fed hike 4 times in 2018, and all investments turned south after chinese new year. Chinese and Hong Kong equities suffered the most as a result of the trade war initiated by Donald Trump. 

Fire represent energy, war, culture and technology. In 2018, the US, France and UK ordered the bombing of the Syrian air base during Syrian civil war. 


五黄 flew to the north in 2018, however, nothing catastrophic appeared to have happened in that year. In this case, only France experienced the yellow vest movements which is the worst civil unrest since the protest of 1968. 

Moving to I-Ching, we gotten Hexagram17 - Following. Thunder below indicate major changes underway, which is true in this case, where there is a big U-turn in US policy, starting trade war and so on. 


However, the hexagram was wrong to indicate that it's a good time to make money, because it proved to be a difficult time to make money. Only fixed deposit was making money, bonds and equities suffered as a result of the rate hike and trade war. 


On a separate note, it's good to comment on the 18.6 year cycle.

The Year of 2022

  Above is the Lichun bazi for 2022, 4 February 2022 4:58AM. 4 yang wood, represent the seven killings to 戊, the yang earth. It does give the impression that there will be a lot of conflict in the Year of 2022. Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022. The Year of 1993

  The lichun bazi for 1993 was 4 February 1993 3:37AM. There were a lot of conflict in that year as well as natural disasters. However, in terms of economic progress, there were a lot of positive for that year.
