THE YEAR OF 2011

 


A rather peculiar bazi for 2011, from left to right all the 4 heavenly stems clash with the 4 earthly branches. There is no earth element at all in the bazi, and the bazi has wood which can overturn soil. In this case, we have 3 big earthquakes that took many lives in 2011. 

The 3 earthquakes took place in New Zealand, Japan and Turkey. The earthquake in Japan was the most severe taking about 20,000 lives and caused the meltdown of the Fukushima Nuclear power plant. 

这个八字犯了伏吟, 日柱和月柱相同. 


五黄 went to the east side, 二黑 went to the south. Since 五黄 is a 大灾之星, it's quite spot on the tsunami that hit Japan on 11 March. The Tohoku earthquake and tsunami was the most powerful earthquake ever recorded in Japan, and was the 4th most powerful in the world since record keeping began in 1900. 



The 9.1 magnitude earthquake resulted in 20,000 deaths, and caused the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, whereby the the tsunami flooded the lower part of the nuclear reactor, causing the failure of the emergency diesel generator to pump cooling liquid to the core reactor leading to the meltdown of 3 nuclear core and vast amount of radioactive water was discharged into the sea. 

Moving to I-Ching, 2011 was given Hexagram23 - splitting apart, 5 yin element and 1 yang element.  




In summary, 2011 wasn't a very good year for stock market. 2 significant events took place:
  • Europe debt crisis
  • US rating downgrade to 'AA'
Greece, Spain and Portugal were at risk of defaulting on their government debt because they were all using a common currency - Euro. The governments were not able to print the money freely as the seigniorage has been handed to Belgium to fund the budget deficit. 

Due to earlier mistake of giving 'AAA' rating for many CDO and mortgage-backed securities, debt rating agency was hesitant maintaining 'AAA' rating for US government, in light of the on-going debt issue surrounding Europe region. 

What my composite index said: 


Looks like a normal year from my composite index, and unable to tell that August will have a sharp correction just by looking at it. However, the decennial pattern does a better job in this case. 


2011 being the year ending with 1 will generally see some sort of correction, which was relatively accurate and tend to see more revolutions and war surrounding it. 


辛金, 革新换代, many leaders in the Middle East and North African region were overthrown in the Arab Spring.

The Year of 2022

  Above is the Lichun bazi for 2022, 4 February 2022 4:58AM. 4 yang wood, represent the seven killings to 戊, the yang earth. It does give the impression that there will be a lot of conflict in the Year of 2022. Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022. The year and month pillars were identical, this will usually mean a lot of hiccups throughout the year, and progress will be slow.  Wood absorbs water, 木旺火相, when the wood is abundant, it provides ample of fuel to the fire. The Year of 1993

  The lichun bazi for 1993 was 4 February 1993 3:37AM. There were a lot of conflict in that year as well as natural disasters. However, in terms of economic progress, there were a lot of positive for that year.
