The Year of 2007

 


Above is the Lichun Bazi of 2007. 己土, is yin earth. The officer, 寅木, yang wood power is strong. Both the 壬 and 亥 water will strengthen the wood. There were also 3 fire elements in the bazi. Fire represent explosion and hot temperature. The 2007 European heatwave (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_European_heat_wave) and the 2007 Asian heatwave (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Asian_heat_wave) from March to July caused many wildfires and near collapse of the electricity grid system due to overconsumption of electricity for cooling purposes. 

The heat also set off explosion of a chemical plant in Shanxi, China. 

Moving to Feng Shui, 二黑入中宫 (http://www.zyqmdj.com/3534.html): 






2007 is the year of the pig, the three killing, 三煞位, is located in the west. It marks the beginning of the Subprime mortgage crisis, originating in the US. On 9 August 2007, BNP Paribas blocked withdrawals from 3 hedge funds heavily invested in subprime mortgages. 

The eighth star, 八百星, is the ruling star for the period from 2004 to 2023, and it is located in the Southwest, notably Latin America in the global map. We can see that the EWZ ETF (Ishares Brazil ETF) were up 75% in the year of 2007 due to the commodity boom, and it has created billionaire, like Eike Batista, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eike_Batista). 

Hang Seng Index also staged a very powerful bull run, up 55% YTD by 1 Nov 2007, before losing it back in Dec. As HSI composed of many property developers, their stock prices have appreciated strongly where the eighth star was the ruling star during this period.
 
Going to I-Ching, we were given Hexagram35 - 'Proceeding Forward' 火地晋: 




On a macro perspective, it is not a good year to invest, given that 兄弟持世，父母生兄弟. It would be a bad market to invest. This is especially true in the west, where S&P500 was moving no where for the entire year of 2007, forming a double top by Oct 2007. However, the Hexagram35 says proceeding forward, it can only have a good ending if one was able to pull the brake in the 4Q2007 and lock in the gains from the massive bull run. 

Market Commentary: 

7 was the most frequently mentioned number in the Bible, the year ending 7 is usually followed by a huge correction dragging into the year ending 8. In Chinese metaphysics, Bazi, all year ending 7 is given by the heavenly stem of 丁火, yin fire. 


My composite cycle captures a bullish 2007, and markets were generally sanguine throughout until end 2007. 


Here we have the balentiran cycle again, which showed that bear markets can take about 2 years to complete.

The Year of 2022

  Above is the Lichun bazi for 2022, 4 February 2022 4:58AM. 4 yang wood, represent the seven killings to 戊, the yang earth. It does give the impression that there will be a lot of conflict in the Year of 2022. Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022. The year and month pillars were identical, this will usually mean a lot of hiccups throughout the year, and progress will be slow.  Wood absorbs water, 木旺火相, when the wood is abundant, it provides ample of fuel to the fire. The Year of 1993

  The lichun bazi for 1993 was 4 February 1993 3:37AM. There were a lot of conflict in that year as well as natural disasters. However, in terms of economic progress, there were a lot of positive for that year. On 8 March 1993 , the moon moved nearest to Earth - perigee , making the moon 14% bigger than usual, the next time it will make perigee again would be 2008.  From Feng Shui perspective, the seventh star was the ruling star of 1993, as well as the 20-year cycle. 七赤重叠入中, we do see quite a fair bit of serious natural disasters occurring around the world.  The sixth star which is 武曲 flew to the South Eastern side, and practically all the South East Asian nations were experiencing a very powerful economic boom due to strong FDI.  1.
