The Year of 1973

 

The 1973 lichun bazi was 7:17AM 4 February 1973. Yin metal, weak by nature, not suitable to accumulate a lot of wealth. It was a chaotic year, where we have Vietnam War, Cambodia Civil war, Yom Kippur War, and China cultural revolution. From this perspective, it does pays to have a close look at Feng shui, because 三煞在东. Out of 4 wars and revolution that took place in 1973, 3 events were located in the east, while Yom Kippur was taking place in centre part of world map.

While the hexagram itself signifies prosperity, it is quite the opposite in reality, it was a chaotic year. Stock markets were bearish throughout the year, because 兄弟持世,求财艰难. 

We have again the Sabbatical cycle beginning from the Sep 1972 - 1973, which is usually negative on financial markets. Subsequently, we have the Kitchin peak in early 1974, which means that the bear market will continue. It took 10 months for the market to bottom out from my composite index, because the year prior was already in a bear market.

This composite wasn't able to capture the bearish sentiment in the market, up until 1974. Other indexes, like the Sabbatical Cycle & Confidence index were right to point out that the market will peak in 1972.

Gann table also was wrong in predicting an uptrend beginning from 1970 - 1974, with high stock prices recorded in 1974, it turned out to be very low stock prices.

Balentiran cycle was sharp in anticipating a peak around 1972. 

October generally is a bearish month, 怪不得有多事之秋, 秋庚斩首. It's important to combine all indexes and metaphysics to derive a composite outlook, as the Sabbatical Cycle & confidence index failed to anticipate the bearish market of 1974.
