The Year of 1873

 

 The Lichun Bazi for the year was 12:50AM 4 February 1873. Yin fire is relatively weak born in the month where wood element is strong, however, there were 3 water element and 2 metal element which drain the yin fire. 癸酉年柱 cause 丁亥柱落空亡, which represent some danger around May-June-July period. 丁亥柱 created a vacuum in 午(禄神) and 未(食神). 

From Feng shui perspective, 一百当运, 三煞在东, 一百入中

Railroad was the most prosperous sector (流动性行业, 运输行业), like water, it moves and facilitates transportation. This was helped by US government giving away land grant to contractor in exchange for railroad. Businessmen were more than happy to build railroad from nowhere to nowhere in exchange for free land, as land speculation was a national pastime.  


On I-Ching, 1873 was given Hexagram56 - 'Sojourning', 下下卦, 子孙持世, 求功名就艰难. A bad hexagram and can mean job loss etc. It doesn't really explain the Panic of 1873 in this case. 




Moving to market itself, the composite model only expect some economic hardship in 1874 and the Sabbatical cycle only began from Sep 1874 - 1875. 

The confidence model was also only partly correct in this respect, whereby it already predicted a downtrend in 1871 to 1873.85 which is early November of 1873. 


I think why most reference model failed in this year was because the Panic of 1873 was brief and short, because towards the end of 1873, it was followed by a strong rally in the US, where the lowest point was only made in 1877. 


The only exception in this case was Benner being able to anticipate the downtrend beginning from 1873 and ending on 1877.

The Year of 2022

  Above is the Lichun bazi for 2022, 4 February 2022 4:58AM. 4 yang wood, represent the seven killings to 戊, the yang earth. It does give the impression that there will be a lot of conflict in the Year of 2022. Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022. The year and month pillars were identical, this will usually mean a lot of hiccups throughout the year, and progress will be slow.  Wood absorbs water, 木旺火相, when the wood is abundant, it provides ample of fuel to the fire. The Year of 1993

  The lichun bazi for 1993 was 4 February 1993 3:37AM. There were a lot of conflict in that year as well as natural disasters. However, in terms of economic progress, there were a lot of positive for that year.
